I began painting with oils in South Africa in the late 1980’s. Largely self taught, I exhibited locally and was commissioned by both local and international sources located in Switzerland, Italy, the USA & the UK. I moved to the UK in 1992 and formalised my art education with a BA (Hons) from the Chelsea School of Art. My work has been exhibited at several venues in the Greater London area and in France.
I am currently engaged with landscapes, having previously been mainly a figurative artist. My primary concerns are with colour and mood, searching for intimacy and familiarity within confined viewpoints of the landscape. I hope to achieve a sense of affection and personal remembrances that might follow an outing through familiar landscapes.
