KATHY HILL

Kathy Hill began potting seven years ago, and being an avid gardener it was always going to be containers that emerged from her kiln.
To make the ‘Pebble Planters’ and ‘Bird Planters’ Kathy will use stoneware clay to coil large pods and then when almost ‘leather hard’ cut them open , bend, alter and texturize their surface. Tools used for this can be as varied as wooden spoons and old credit cards.
After firing to 1280 degrees the gardener in her returns and the pots are planted with ‘Semper Vivens’ which in a short time grow to fill the apertures and give the impression of natural pebbles which have been invaded by nature.
All Kathy’s vessels are frost proof, so can live in or out-doors.
